AVOIDING HIGH-FRUCTOSE CORN SYRUP WON’T SAVE YOU FROM OBESITY – In the 70’s and 80’sthe average American’s body weight increased in proportion with the food industry’s use of high-fructose corn syrup … but, it’s not the smoking gun!

Obesity is plainly and simply – consuming too many calories! It just so happens that a lot of overweight people consume drinks and foods that are heavy in high-fructose corn syrups and high on the glycemic index. Those calorie totals are huge and the source just happens to be sugar based. Dr. Westman of Duke University medical center is a specialist in obesity research says that the effects of a high glycemic food can be lessened by adding fat and protein.

Sure, we can blame food producers for putting all the “junk” and chemicals in the food we eat or … we can just be aware and watch what we put in our mouths, you know, a little personal responsibility! Here’s an easy way to tell if your intake is too much or just right. If your weight is manageable and your clothes fit well then you’re more than likely doing the right things. Conversely, if your weight is more than it should be or rises and falls like the tides of the ocean, then you’re more than likely not doing the right things for you – so let’s talk!!!
